Jami

Jami is here for when mental illness and distress make everyday life a struggle.

Contact Us

Jami, the mental health service for the Jewish community and part of Jewish Care, provides vital services for young people from 11 years old through to those in later life, whose mental illness and distress makes everyday life a struggle. Jami’s lifesaving services give people hope and support their recovery.

These services include one-to-one adult support, talking therapies, support for children and young people, advice and advocacy, support groups for families and carers, volunteer befriending and vocational support, all of which are lifelines for people living with mental illness and distress. The same is true of Jami’s community hubs and social enterprise café, Head Room in Golders Green, which provide vital social connection for people who may have become isolated because of their mental health.

To increase people’s understanding around mental health including how to prevent suicide, we also provide specialist courses to community leaders, including bespoke courses designed to speak to the Jewish community and Mental Health First Aid training.

Gifts in wills make a huge difference to our work, supporting everything from our Children and Young Person’s service for 11–25-year-olds struggling to cope, to Jami’s befriending service for people who are lonely and isolated.

Our community has come a long way in understanding and supporting people with mental illness, but there is still lots more to do. By leaving a gift in your will to Jami, together we can go so much further.
