Transforming lives, one dog at a time
Since 1991 the Israel Guide Dog Centre has been providing trained guide dogs to Israel’s blind and visually impaired community. From 2018 we have expanded our services to include therapy and service dogs for IDF veterans with PTSD and children with autism.
Our services are free of charge to our clients and 94% of our operating budget comes from charitable donations. A guide dog costs the charity £30,000 and a therapy dog for a wounded IDF veteran costs £18,000. We aim to produce, as a minimum 30 new guide dogs and 40 new therapy / service dogs per year.
We work towards providing independence and self-esteem for all our clients so that they can live as normal a life as possible and integrate them into Israeli society.
