ALEH is a leading organisation in the field of care, rehabilitation and quality of life for children and young adults with severe intellectual and developmental disabilities, and complex medical conditions.
Established in 1982 by a group of parents, today ALEH operates a network of four residential centres across Israel where over 750 children and young adults with multiple developmental and physical disabilities receive around the clock state-of-the-art medical, educational and rehabilitative care.
Many of our children cannot initially walk, talk, feed themselves or even breathe on their own. The pioneering rehabilitative and special education techniques we use, not only allow many of them to overcome these difficulties, but also enable them to develop well beyond the boundaries of their initial prognoses and to realise their full potential. That is the reason, similar organisations in Israel for people with special needs choose to refer their most complex cases to ALEH.
The children of ALEH, most of whom would otherwise spend their entire lives in a hospital bed, are able to lead happy lives: they attend school, participate in vocational training programs, enjoy social outdoor activities, and integrate with the wider community.
Our services are inclusive and open for everyone, regardless of religion, background, or financial capability, and our centres are genuine examples of co-existence and social integration.
